Mission Guatemala

Outreach for Jesus organizes periodic trips to Guatemala. We feel a social burden for feeding the children of the Lord and we invite you to join us to bring hope to children who spend their days in commercial or transient areas, and in markets at night. At night they sleep by making their beds in the streets, parks, or passageways.
A preferred place is the La Place Central, which is half open-air with a protective roof. To survive, however, they beg and rob. Many childen prostitute themselves or become drug addicts. A few work sporadically washing plates, cleaning cars, or singing in buses. The children help each other, and, if one does not have anything to eat, their friends share. However, these children continue to be at high risk; particularly because of the increasing wave of "social cleansing." The assassins of street kids are private security forces, ex-policemen, and ex-military, who desire to rid areas of the blight of homeless children.

If you are interested in sharing the love of Jesus with those in need and would like to travel to Guatemala with Outreach for Jesus, please contact our office at (606) 451-0807 or 163 Cotter Avenue Somerset, KY 42501. Volunteers are required to pay for their own travel expenses. If you are unable to go on the mission trip but would like to participate in our commitment to Guatemala, 100% of your contribution to the Guatemala mission will reach the children of the street and the needy. You may not be able to change the world but you can certainly make a difference in the life of a person in need.
